Dane Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • salt
  • 6 eggs

Directions

  • 1 In heavy saucepan, heat butter and water over med-low heat until butter melts.
  • 2 Remove from heat and stir in flour.
  • 3 Return to med-low heat and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • 4 Remove from heat and cool.
  • 5 Add the eggs, 3 at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • 6 Stir in a dash of salt.
  • 7 Drop dumplings into boiling soup.
  • 8 Cook for 10 to 15 minutes with lid off.
