Pesto Tuna Melts

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Italian bread, cut 1-inch thick
  • 1/2 cup pesto sauce
  • 2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 (6 ounce) canned tuna, drained
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese, cut diagonally in half
  • fresh ground pepper

Directions

  • 1 Set oven to broil.
  • 2 Place the bread on a cookies sheet.
  • 3 Broil with tops about 4 inches from heat until golden brown; turn and broil again until golden brown.
  • 4 Spread bread slices with pesto.
  • 5 Top with tomato slices, tuna and cheese slices.
  • 6 Broil about 1 minute or just until cheese starts to melt.
  • 7 Sprinkle with pepper.
